January 25, 2019

Another cold windy day on for today Friday January 25, 2019.  This past week we all heard the news of the terrible law put into effect in New York.  The law says that abortion can happen anytime from conception to birth.  So the question that will be debated is when does life begin? Is it at conception, when a heartbeat is heard or when the baby breaths on their own outside of the womb? It seems a sad commentary on our society that you can face massive fines and prison time if you destroy the eggs of a bald eagle but a baby in the womb of their mother isn’t protected.  I believe that this is another call for prayer.

Tonight, and tomorrow there is a prayer teaching event here at North Clinton.  You are all invited to come and be a part of it.  Bring your friends and come out and learn and pray for our community.  Prayer is that time of spending time with God. Not just talking but listening and spending time with Him.

This past Sunday we spent time talking about heaven, and God’s plan for us. The ways that God has provided for us and how he is prepared for anything that we will experience in our lives.  We are marked by the beast or we are sealed by the Spirit.  We often talk about end times. End times are the time between when Christ ascended and when he returns to take the church, the bride of Christ home with Him. So our challenge is to be ready, which means we ask Jesus to be our Lord and Savior and have our name written in the Lambs book of Life.  This puts the seal of the Spirit on us.  If we don’t have Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we then are marked by the beast.

Our end can come so quickly for all of us.  I was reminded this morning when I heard about my friend that was killed in a restaurant shooting last evening.  A man entered the restaurant intending to kill his girl friend and when my friend and his son tried to intervene, they were both shot. My friend died and his son is in critical condition.  Please keep the Dean Beachy family in your prayers.

Pastor Dan will be preaching from 2 Corinthians 1. You can read that in preparation.  What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus Christ?

Enjoy the weather. If you would like to have a warm place to walk and get some exercise, feel free to come to the church and walk here.  The office is open from 8:00 to 4:00 each day. It is closed during the lunch hour.

Blessings!
